Dr Anthony Medhurst
I was raised in Kent and educated locally. I spent my early years walking and cycling around this beautiful county, exploring its country lanes and coastline. I went to University where I took three degrees in History, including a PhD from Cambridge. It was here that I fulfilled a life-long love of this subject but also the recognition that I wanted to spend my time doing something inspirational, meaningful and in the company of many others.
After choosing what became a rewarding and fulfilling career in fundraising, I decided to return to my first passion in life – sharing my knowledge of Britain’s history and those special places off the well-trodden tourist track with other like-minded people.
Passion, local knowledge and historical expertise
Kent and Country Tours started in 2022 with a specialist focus on the Battle of Britain. However thanks to fantastic customer feedback and demand, an additional range of tours has been added which now include the most popular sites from the White Cliffs of Dover to prehistoric Stonehenge.
Whichever tour you choose, the focus will always be about giving you an experience of this beautiful part of the world that you’ll never forget – one that is fun, stimulating and inspirational.
